We hosted an international expert panel discussion titled “Good Practice to Disaster Risk Management of Cultural Heritage. In July of 2023, our ITC team successfully published a book as Routledge Studies in Hazards, Disaster Risk and Climate Change. This panel discussion was conducted as a book launch event of the book. During this panel discussion, we deliberated on the future direction of international training based on the content of this book. The guest lecture was delivered by Elena Mamani, a former trainee from the 2014 academic year who received recognition for her outstanding initiative during the 2020 workshops. Additionally, as panelists for the discussion, we were honored to have former UNESCO Chair Professor, Professor Kanefusa Masuda, Professor Ksenia Chmutina from Loughborough University, Elke Selter from Heritage in Emergencies Belgium, Ang Ming Chee from George Town World Heritage Incorporated, Vanessa Tanner from Kaiwhakahaere Poutairangahia, and our international training course project leader, Professor Kenji Okubo. The panel sparked lively discussions regarding the future direction of the international training program, building upon the content of the published book.
